Of the 1.89 million seafarers worldwide (see the Seafarer Workforce Report by the ICS here, the most common nationalities are from the Philippines, China, India, Ukraine, Indonesia, and Russia. Given the ports we serve, it is possible for us to encounter virtually every single nationality. Our stock management is done accordingly.
On the rare occasion that our stocks are not sufficient for the different food products demanded by the crew members, our team works vigorously to find alternative solutions. Our favorite example is when we once ran out of the beloved Indian dessert gulab jamun. We came up with the alternative Turkish dessert kemalpasa tatlisi, and the crew loved it. The next time, they ordered the kemalpasa, even though the gulab jamun was readily in stock and actually cheaper. This is what we strive for: creating absolute satisfaction for the crew members. We all owe them.
